I have always had to watch my weight. I have been on every diet going, joined gyms, bought exercise DVDs and achieved a little bit of weight loss but never got to my goals and always regained the weight eventually. Like most people I thought having a Personal Trainer was something only celebrities had. After getting engaged earlier this year I was determined that I would lose weight for my wedding so I decided to have a taster session with Toby. Before my first session with Toby I was completely intimidated thinking he would just laugh at how out of shape I was. To my surprise I absolutely loved it and he was not intimidating at all but very professional and approachable.
I never thought I would enjoy exercise but I actually look forward to my PT sessions. Since that first session I have got down to a weight I never thought I could possibly achieve.
My body shape has completely transformed and my improvement in fitness has been incredible. Every session he has me trying new things and it’s always fun and instead of being embarrassed about looking silly we just laugh lots. Toby has also given me nutrition plans to follow along the way and if I ever get bored with the food or exercise routine, he is always more than happy to take the time to give me something new to try. So if you sound like me, give Toby a try and you just might just change your life! Oh, and don’t let the fact that he’s a vegan put you off! He’s quite normal really!

I thought I knew everything I needed to know about fitness and weight loss, but I was wrong.
I would be at the gym most days doing at least 2 classes and just overdoing it. I had been going to the gym for over 2 years, managed to see some results at first, but that soon stopped and I started to gain weight again.
Then in July 2010 I decided to give Personal Training with Toby a go.
I think I’ve been a difficult client for him because I have been very reluctant to change my ways. Eventually I started listening and Toby has managed to teach me more about fitness and nutrition in these few months than in a lifetime of thinking I knew what I was doing.
When I finally adapted to the program and did the training whilst following the food diary, I can honestly say it has made a massive difference to my life.
Toby has managed to make the training sessions interesting and different every time, and his knowledge on what type of exercise would be best for me has been outstanding.
He has always managed to push me further than I thought I could ever go, which has pleasantly surprised me, I cannot believe half the things I am capable of achieving these days. Whilst I’ve been on this eating & exercise plan I have gone down 2 dress sizes and lost over 16lbs! I’m two thirds of the way there, and I’m also doing my first half marathon.
I never thought I would say this but I really look forward to our training sessions, because I never know what to expect from one week to the next. It’s never boring!

I have been training with Toby for 4 months now – from the first time we met he made me feel really relaxed and comfortable. Our first consultation was brilliant; we discussed my goals and achievements at length. I really appreciated this time as I was able to discuss my likes/dislikes. We discussed a realistic training programme and a healthy diet. Toby is a fountain of knowledge and readily passes on this information. The results have been amazing! I feel fantastic – friends and family have noticed how much my body has changed along with incredible weight loss. I feel more confident and happy in myself.

Toby has been amazingly supportive and has given great encouragement. Toby is an expert and the results speak volumes. I couldn’t recommend Toby enough for his passionate dedication and motivation. I especially enjoy the boxing sessions, every work out has been completely different and challenging which has pushed me to my limits!

Physical exercise always brought back bad memories of PE at school in the 70’s – no fun – no benefit – no explanation – just do it and suffer. Last year I needed any distraction I could find to help me through a difficult time, and with everything else going on, I didn’t need my health to get any worse. So, even though I felt uncomfortable with the thought of my poor old body being ridiculed by some young Gym guy, I gave it a go.
Toby found a way of finding my level and was totally encouraging and supportive. He knew how to push me to make the sessions worth while, and I was surprised to discover that rather than being mindless, it kept me sharp, as I had to focus on the complexity of the routines as Toby built them up each week – never dull. I thought my health was the only thing that might improve, but my sense of well-being improved and the days following each session helped me deal with the more negative parts of my life at that time. I’d say ‘Give it a go – surprise yourself!’.
